How Large Corporations Leverage Startups to Achieve ESG Commitments—Cisco Partners with Bosch Intelligent to Help the Manufacturing Industry Build Secure and Efficient Industrial Data Networks.

Blutech, a leading Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) company, has partnered with global ICT giant Cisco to jointly launch Taiwan’s first Zero Trust architecture—an industrial network with high security protection. This collaboration is part of Cisco’s commitment to ESG principles, with the company investing in the Taiwan Digital Acceleration (TDA) program. Blutech was invited to become a member of the program and collaborate with Cisco on product integration, aiming to create an industrial network architecture that is completely secure.

Blutech’s Business Director, Kuo Han, stated, “In the manufacturing sector, the integration of OT (Operational Technology) data and IT cybersecurity issues has become a barrier for businesses when pursuing ESG and carbon audits. The industry lacks a reliable and comprehensive solution, especially with the CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) requiring quarterly carbon audit reports. In the future, it will be essential to be able to check carbon emission data online, and automated and digital data collection will be necessary. If OT data cannot be securely integrated into the customer’s existing IT environment, even basic carbon audits cannot be carried out or implemented, thus undermining the purpose of automated data collection.” Therefore, the security of data access and storage is a critical issue to overcome.

Blutech is honored to participate in Cisco’s TDA program, where, through Cisco’s equipment and cybersecurity dual certification, they have developed the industry’s first Zero Trust architecture for industrial networks. This solution ensures secure OT data collection at the front end, secure access to the customer’s network, and the backend hybrid cloud high-performance computing architecture. It meets the manufacturing industry’s urgent need for automated carbon data collection, visualization, multi-factor authentication, and big data applications. Moreover, Blutech’s flexible deployment capabilities enable the phased development of a highly secure industrial network, establishing a complete data infrastructure for carbon audits and ESG, and becoming the industry’s model for the seamless integration of OT and IT.

The Blutech and Cisco integrated solution will be showcased for the first time at the 2023 International Smart Energy Week on October 18. Additionally, the exhibition will feature a new generation “Hybrid Energy Monitoring and Management System Solution” in collaboration with the joint exhibition partner TROPOX. This solution provides more complete and flexible services, allowing customers to choose between wired modular energy managers or wireless smart meters for monitoring deployment and transmitting data to local or cloud-based system platforms.
